Positano Townhomes Now Under Construction
Construction is now underway on the Positano Townhomes located in Beachtown's Village I. These two and three-story town homes will front Town Center and be within walking distance of its Café and Market. The five townhomes will be a perfect blend of the Coastal and New Vernacular style and feature a front porch off the downstairs living area and a popular double-master suite upstairs. Three of the homes will offer a tower with an attached deck providing views to the serene nature preserve located directly behind the town homes.

The Positano Townhomes will be available Fall of 08.

Town Center Now Under Construction
Construction has begun on Beachtown's Town Center. Offering a mix of residential, retail and hospitality venues to the village, Town Center will serve as the hub of the Beachtown community and offer a central gathering place for residents and events.

The 4 ½ story Town Center's complex will include six residential lofts, and a village market including a café. Loft residences will feature abundant porches wrapping the building and offering exceptional views to the pedestrian activity below, lagoons and wetlands to the north and ocean views to the south. A platform will lower from the commercial level to pedestrians below offering a refreshment and entertainment venue.

Hundreds of Floridian Royal Palms to Line East Village Passages
East Village is undergoing a tropical transformation as hundreds of Royal Palms are being planted along several passages throughout the seaside village. Beachtown is unique in that it is the first Galveston development to transplant mature Royal Palms for use in landscaping.

"These majestic palms lining Sunset Passage will offer a breathtaking bay and gulf view and will add a tropical ambience throughout the development", stated Town Founder Tofigh Shirazi.

A variety of other palms including Florida Sabal, Mexican Fan and Canary palms will complete the transformation. Manicured Bocce courts, horseshoe pits and green spaces for seaside picnics will be interspersed throughout the village.

East Village Dune Walk-Over to Feature Obelisk Platform
The Dune Walk-Over located at East Village is currently under construction and will feature a uniquely designed obelisk platform with seating on which visitors may enjoy a grand ocean view. Each of Beachtown's villages will feature sculpture-like dune walk-over platforms depicting various architectural elements. Implementing the architectural element of the obelisk, the East Village platform will house a tapering monument with a pyramidal top like those first used by the Egyptians and later brought over to Europe by the Romans. The base of the obelisk will include a tapered bench with seating on all four sides. A post and beam structure will ascend above the seating offering architectural "delight" as well as intimacy and limited shade. The obelisk will include internal lighting offering a soft glow to nocturnal visitors who wish to enjoy the evening ocean breeze.

Beachtown to Host Hospitality Tent at AIA Sandcastle Competition
Beachtown staff will host a hospitality tent at the AIA Sandcastle Competition held on East Beach on Saturday, May 31st from 10am to 5pm. The annual event is sponsored by the Houston Chapter of AIA and will feature Houston area architects, designers, engineers and contractors as they participate in one of the world's largest sandcastle competitions. The hospitality tent will offer refreshments and information about Beachtown.
