Beachtown's 35-foot float in Galveston's 2007
Mardi Gras Parade will feature the building to be installed in
Village One as Beachtown's first Creamery. Royal blue and white
colors will accent the float, along with palm trees, a windsurfer,
a beach cabana, and models throwing beads to parade watchers. In
the tradition of Beachtown, the Creamery and upper deck at the back
of the float are being designed and built in coastal vernacular
architectural style.
Clock Tower Arrives in the East Village
With roads and utilities close to completion in
the East Village, the second Beachtown village is coming to life.
At the entrance to the East Village, a fantastic clock tower,
recalling the history of Galveston, is being installed to mark the
leisure hours as residents devote themselves to enjoying their East
Village homes. Expansive beaches, pristine lagoons and splendid
bird-watching parks surround and interlace Beachtown, creating an
environment that refreshes the soul. In addition, long, manicured
walkways connect the lagoons and beaches in every direction. With
such a beautiful setting, a stroll becomes a nature walk at any
time of the day or evening. Homesites in the East Village, situated
to take advantage of inspiring views, will soon become available
for purchase.
Home Construction Blooms in Village One
Many homes and
townhomes are nearing construction in Village One as designs are
finished and architectural approvals are received from the Town
Architects. Hannon Homes will begin construction of the Seaside
Townhomes along the boulevard section (RD-60) of Seaside Drive. In
addition, the Town Founder's home has entered the permitting
process at the City of Galveston, and will soon be built in Village
One.![]()

Shopping, Cafes and Lofts at Beachtown Square
Master architect Milosav Cekic is
completing his design of two mixed-use buildings to be located at
the Beachtown Town Center. These buildings will include retail
shops, cafes and several residential lofts. Positioned ideally on
both sides of the manicured palms of Shiraz Passage, the buildings
will overlook the Beachtown Pavilion/Dune Walk-over and the Gulf of
Mexico to the south, and the lovely Beachtown Lagoons to the north.
Soon, visitors will walk along the Passage to watch bocce games,
savor ice cream and sodas on outdoor benches, and chat with friends
on the impressive paved plazas in front of the Town Center.
Granville Lights Illuminate the Landscape
After the Town Founder's long quest to
find precisely the right lights to be installed throughout
Beachtown, they have arrived. The Granville lights, designed in
early 20th century style with the advanced optics of the 21st
century, are "acorn"-shaped fixtures that limit glare while
creating a subtle, pleasing sparkle in the night.
Providing Peace of Mind for Residents
Although there's no question that storms
occur in coastal areas, Beachtown will be much better prepared than
most to weather the wind and rain. This is the first community in
Galveston to be affiliated with the Fortified…for safer
living program, developed by the Institute for Business and Home
Safety. The program is a national initiative to increase homes'
resistance to natural hazards that hurricanes may bring. The
Fortified standard applies to every home to be built in Beachtown,
and includes such safeguards as:![]()
- · Homes rated to withstand 130-mile-per-hour winds
· Homes built at least two feet above FEMA's base flood elevation standard
· Roofs securely fastened and sealed to resist wind and water
· A continuous path from roof to foundation
· Impact-resistant windows and doors
"The Fortified program sets Beachtown apart in Galveston" says Tofigh Shirazi, Town Founder. "We feel this program may provide peace of mind for our residents."
